Recently, I was able to go check out Verizon's new store concept - Next Gen Stores. Verizon's new retail strategy will enable them to map out how people behave online and then translate this to their physical stores. It enables those customers who know what they want, to go straight to their selection while encouraging discovery for those who are simply browsing.

Visually, the store was very appealing from the warmth of wood tones and materials used for fixtures to the lifestyle photography, visual merchandising and messaging that told specific product stories. Verizon's new concept looks more like a bookstore rather than a place to buy  a phone. But that is not a bad thing at all. Products are grouped by device type and according to interests. The retail presentation makes it easy to find specific items, and less time is wasted. 

With the introduction of these Next Gen Stores, Verizon has achieved a more intuitive, inviting and self-guided experience for their consumers. The redesign of the store experience was successfully tested in multiple stores, resulting in a roll-out of the concept to hundreds of Verizon’s stores.
